How do we contribute to greater peace in the world by engaging with a silent meditation retreat?
Our actions, beliefs and thoughts affect our immediate and wider environments. When a group gathers intentionally to focus on wholesome remembrance of our innate radiance and deep interconnectedness, it cultivates powerful healing energy that impacts others directly and globally. Thich Nhat Hahn pointed to this awareness of belonging as interbeing.
Nourishing a matrix of friendships, we wake up together and can offer the world greater insight, compassion and peace.
Supported by simplicity and silence, meditation and dialogue, we will investigate the pain of separation while strengthening attitudes and practices of dharma friendship. The retreat will include daily meditation instructions, alternate periods of walking and sitting meditation, dialogue and movement. With a foundation of the four establishments of mindfulness, daily talks will focus on teachings that encourage greater freedom and insight.
This retreat is open to beginners as well as seasoned meditation practitioners, and for teachers of Mindfulness-Based programs, there is the opportunity to dive more deeply into the subtle essence of present-moment awareness.
